Xi Jinping, president of China, has urged the military personnel to focus on preparing for war amid recent political unrest that has pitched the country against the United States and other parts of the world.
Speaking during a visit to a military marine base on Tuesday, October 13, in Southern China, President Jinping told the soldiers to “maintain a high level of alert.
” Jinping was said to be inspecting the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) navy-marine corps in Chaozhou of Guangdong province as part in celebrations to mark the 40th anniversary of the Shenzhen special economic zone holding on Wednesday, October 15.
According to Daily Mail, the statement might be attributed to the rising political tension between China and Taiwan, a country in East Asia which Beijing Chinas capital considers as its own.
“Focus all your minds and energy on preparing for war and maintain a high level of alert… safeguard the country’s sovereignty security and marine interests.”
